Using VOIP with Fring client on my WM6 Smartphone (Blackjack II)

Today I installed Fring on my Samsung Blackjack II (Windows Mobile 6 Standard, aka WM6 Smartphone). The Fring client is a multi-protocol softphone.

Testing using Fring to call their test number and my SIP provider to call my landline via AT&T Wireless 3G. So far the sound quality was barely acceptable, like a bad cell call.

With the client open, incoming cell phone calls were not received. 3G is supposed to allow simultaneous voice and data.

Fring client installed easily (once I got to the correct URL - their main webpages are not mobile or firefox friendly. Look it up with IE or firefox IE tab, fill in a bogus phone number).

About AT&T Wireless -

Using VOIP is technically a violation of AT&T Wireless' monopolistic TOS.

It is hard to google a company that keeps changing it's name; If I look for AT&T I get info about their other services, AT&T wireless gets me info about them before they merged with Cingular, Cingular gets me info that is 1 year old or more, sometimes they are ATT, and AT&T mobility gets little. So if you are a company, find a name and stick with it!
